What is Rise of Kingdoms?

Rise of Kingdoms is a free-to-play real-time strategy MMO developed by Lilith Games where you choose from 14 historical civilizations — Rome, Britain, China, Vikings, Ottoman, and more — each with unique units, buildings, and civilization bonuses. Core gameplay blends city-building, real-time troop marches on an open map, and commander-driven army composition across PvE and PvP content.

What separates it from other mobile strategy games is real-time movement. Troops march visibly across the map, battles happen in the field (not instanced), and you can reinforce allies or intercept enemies mid-march. This creates a layer of tactical positioning that most SLGs skip entirely. Alliance coordination during Kingdom vs Kingdom events feels closer to an RTS than a typical mobile builder.

You start with a small settlement and a starter commander tied to your chosen civilization. Commanders level through experience stars, skill upgrades, and talent trees — each has 4 active/passive skills and a specialization (infantry, cavalry, archer, or mixed). Pairing the right two commanders together is where endgame depth lives.

The first 7-10 days are guided by the tutorial and a «jump start» event that rewards aggressive early upgrading. By City Hall level 15-17, the game opens up and alliance warfare becomes the primary driver.
