What is Foundation: Galactic Frontier?

Foundation: Galactic Frontier is a free-to-play sci-fi strategy game developed by FunPlus in collaboration with Paramount Television Studios, officially licensed from Isaac Asimov's Foundation series and the Apple TV+ show. You play as a "trader" navigating faction politics between the crumbling Galactic Empire, the Foundation, rebels, and rival players. Core gameplay blends mothership simulation, fleet construction, trade route management, and real-time alliance warfare.

The standout feature is the mothership as a living base. Unlike typical SLGs where your base is a static city, here you build out the interior of a spaceship — food systems, water recyclers, oxygen farms, charging stations, and defensive cannons. It's a self-sustaining mobile home that you pilot through space, and every interior upgrade feeds directly into your fleet's combat stats. You meet characters from the Foundation IP — Hari Seldon, Hober Mallow, the Mule — through cinematic narrative events where your decisions shape story outcomes. Landing on planets triggers 3-hero tactical combat sequences, adding an action layer on top of the strategy framework. The game straddles multiple genres intentionally.

The opening week guides you through mothership construction, first fleet assembly, and story chapters that introduce the faction system. By day 5-7 you'll be exploring the open galaxy map, discovering space ruins and alien planets. Alliance content unlocks early, and like most FunPlus titles, joining one is critical for meaningful mid-game progression.
