What is NosTale?

NosTale is a free-to-play anime action MMORPG developed by Entwell Co. and published by Gameforge. You create a character from three base classes — Swordsman, Archer, or Mage — then transform into 30+ specialist classes using the game's signature Specialist Card system. Each card gives your character a completely different skill set and role: swap from a Ninja to a Holy Mage to a Volcano specialist without creating a new character.

The pet system (NosMates) is the second pillar. You tame wild creatures, train them, and deploy them in combat alongside your character. Pets fight, level up, and evolve. Combined with the class-swapping mechanic, team composition gets surprisingly deep for a game with this art style.

Between adventures you retreat to your Miniland — a personal instanced space where you build a house, tend a garden, play minigames, and host friends. The Family system (NosTale's guild equivalent) adds cooperative raids, group PvE content, and shared progression bonuses.

The first 20-30 hours are story-driven across six acts that introduce the world's conflict. The NosFire event server (running through June 2026) lets new players start at level 80 with boosted experience, making it the best on-ramp for newcomers right now.
