What is Gladiatus?

Gladiatus is a free-to-play browser-based RPG developed by Gameforge, set in ancient Rome. You play as a freed gladiator fighting for glory in PvP arenas, exploring wilderness areas (Misty Mountains, Grimwood, barbarian villages), and diving into dungeons filled with over 100 unique enemies. The core loop is simple: train stats, equip gear, fight, improve — in sessions that can last as little as 2 minutes.

The item system is where the depth sits. Over 1,000 different weapons, armor pieces, shields, and accessories — each with stat bonuses that affect combat outcomes. Equipment sets provide stacking bonuses. The auction house lets you bid against other players for rare drops, with a hidden-timer mechanic that adds tension to every bid. Combat is automated and stat-based. Arena fights against other players resolve in seconds based on your equipment, trained stats, and build optimization. Expeditions run in the background for roughly 10 minutes, returning experience, gold, and items. The game is built for passive play — check in a few times a day, queue actions, close the tab.

The tutorial is minimal — you're dropped into Rome and pointed toward the arena and the wilderness. By day 2-3 you'll have a routine: train stats, run expeditions, fight in the arena, check the auction house. Guilds add a social layer with cooperative dungeon content and guild-vs-guild competition.
