Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open-world action-adventure game from Rockstar Games, the studio behind Grand Theft Auto. It's both a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption and one of the most detailed open worlds ever built, set across a fictionalized version of the American West and South in 1899, as the era of the gunslinging outlaw fades into modern law and order.

You play as Arthur Morgan, a senior member of the Van der Linde gang on the run after a robbery in the town of Blackwater goes wrong. The story follows the gang's slow unraveling as they flee across states, take on jobs, and clash with rival outfits, bounty hunters and Pinkerton agents. It's a character-driven tale about loyalty, survival and the cost of clinging to a dying way of life.

Moment to moment, the game blends gunplay, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, robbery and exploration with a remarkable level of simulation. NPCs remember your actions, your horse bonds with you over time, weather and wildlife behave dynamically, and an honor system tracks whether you play Arthur as a hardened killer or a reluctant man of conscience. The PC edition layers on uncapped frame rates, 4K and ultrawide support, and additional story missions and weapons not present at the original 2018 console launch.
