About Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is a single-player open-world action RPG set in the 1800s, long before the events of the Harry Potter films. You play a fifth-year student arriving late to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, carrying a rare ability to see and use ancient magic. After being sorted into Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin, you attend classes, make allies and explore a wizarding world full of mystery and danger.

The game gives you a huge map to explore: the Hogwarts castle with its moving staircases, common rooms and hidden passages, the shops and streets of Hogsmeade, and the open Scottish Highlands with farms, ruins, dungeons and Merlin Trials. You travel on foot, by Floo Flame fast-travel, or by mounting a broom or a flying beast once you've unlocked them.

Combat blends spellcasting and timing. You equip a loadout of spells — from Accio and Levioso to combat curses — and break enemy shields by matching the right colour-coded spell, then chain attacks, dodges and parries. A talent tree lets you specialise in stealth, control or raw damage, while gear, potions and Ancient Magic finishers round out your build. The Room of Requirement adds light crafting, plant-growing and a beast sanctuary where you can rescue and care for magical creatures.
